Teaching Philosophy
As a performer and music educator, I believe that it is my job to expose people of all ages to the joy of music. Music making should be a positive experience that fosters creativity, discovery, critical thinking, and mindfulness. I believe in an accessible and inclusive lesson environment and am willing to work with every student to customize their experience to meet their individual needs. Music is for everyone. I provide my students with strategies to enhance their skills not only in technique, but with skills that cover all aspects of music making (history, emotion, intent, theory, philosophy, and more) which allows the student to cultivate their own personal connection with music. No matter where you are in life’s journey, creating music and gaining an understanding of your instrument will enrich your existence.
